Victron BlueSolar MPPT 75/10 Solar Charge Controller – 12/24V, 10A
The Victron BlueSolar MPPT 75/10 is a cost-conscious alternative to SmartSolar for installations that do not need built-in Bluetooth. It delivers efficient MPPT charging for 12V and 24V battery systems, with up to 10A of charging current and a 75V maximum solar input.
A practical choice for small RV, trailer, cabin and maintenance-charging systems, BlueSolar keeps everyday operation simple. Once the correct charging profile is configured, the controller operates automatically—no ongoing app connection is required. For setup or later adjustments, its VE.Direct port provides access through compatible accessories.
Why You’ll Love It
- Lower-cost alternative to SmartSolar: Ideal when built-in Bluetooth is not needed.
- Efficient MPPT charging: Tracks the solar array’s maximum power point as conditions change.
- 12V or 24V operation: Automatic battery-system voltage detection on initial startup.
- Automatic load protection: A controlled DC load output helps protect against excessive battery discharge.
- Configurable through VE.Direct: Adjust charging settings, review operating data and update firmware with compatible accessories.
The BlueSolar 75/10 has no built-in Bluetooth or physical battery-type selector. If its factory charging profile is not appropriate for your battery, a compatible VE.Direct accessory is required to select the correct settings before use. Automatic voltage detection does not identify battery chemistry.
The Victron VE.Direct to USB interface lets you configure the controller using free VictronConnect software on a supported computer or compatible Android device. Choose a battery preset or adjust supported settings to suit your installation.
Simple Operation Without Built-In Bluetooth
BlueSolar is a good fit when you want dependable automatic charging without paying for a built-in wireless connection. Configure the controller for the battery and installation, then let it manage charging automatically. A USB interface does not need to remain connected.
Installers can also reuse a compatible USB interface across multiple controllers, making BlueSolar a practical option for repeat installations where a permanent Bluetooth connection is unnecessary.
Sapphire Energy offers controller programming for customers who would rather leave configuration to us. Contact us before ordering with your battery make and model, battery-system voltage and requested settings.
Typical Applications
- Small RV, camper and utility-trailer solar installations
- Cabin lighting and other modest off-grid DC loads
- Solar battery maintenance and seasonal equipment charging
- Installations where settings are configured once rather than adjusted regularly

| Weight | 0.5kg [1.10lb] |
Dimensions are presented as body length × width × thickness; Victron lists these measurements as height × width × depth. PV voltage must exceed battery voltage by 5V to start charging and by 1V thereafter. Solar-array sizing must respect both the voltage and short-circuit-current limits, including increased open-circuit voltage in cold weather. Specifications are subject to manufacturer updates.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is BlueSolar different from SmartSolar?
BlueSolar provides efficient MPPT charging without built-in Bluetooth. It is a lower-cost option when you do not need regular wireless monitoring and are comfortable configuring the controller through a compatible VE.Direct accessory or using our programming service.
Prefer convenient setup and monitoring from your phone? The SmartSolar MPPT 75/15 includes built-in Bluetooth and increases maximum charging current to 15A. Use the free VictronConnect app to select your battery profile, adjust settings and check solar production without purchasing a separate interface.
What are the factory settings, and do I need to change them?
The BlueSolar MPPT 75/10 ships with the following charging settings. It automatically detects 12V or 24V battery-system voltage on initial startup, but does not automatically identify battery chemistry.
| Factory Setting | 12V System | 24V System |
|---|---|---|
| Absorption Voltage* | 14.4V | 28.8V |
| Float Voltage* | 13.8V | 27.6V |
| Maximum Charging Current | 10A | 10A |
| Automatic Equalization | Disabled | Disabled |
| Temperature Compensation | −16mV/°C | −32mV/°C |
*Charging-voltage targets are referenced to 25°C [77°F]. Enabled temperature compensation changes these targets with temperature.
For Sapphire LiFePO₄ batteries: The 14.4V absorption setting matches our recommended charging voltage for 12V models. However, temperature compensation should be disabled for lithium use, and the remaining charging settings should be checked against your specific battery model. Keep equalization disabled.
For AGM and other lead-acid batteries: The factory profile may be suitable when its settings match the battery manufacturer’s requirements. Keep equalization disabled for AGM, gel and other sealed batteries. Only enable equalization for flooded lead-acid batteries when their manufacturer specifically recommends it.
Prefer us to handle configuration? Send Sapphire Energy your battery details and requested settings before ordering. We can confirm feasibility and quote the programming service cost.
Do I need to program it before use?
You must confirm that the charging settings suit your battery before use. If the factory profile is appropriate, no custom programming is required. If it is not, use a compatible VE.Direct accessory to change the profile. This controller does not have a physical battery-type selector.
Automatic 12V/24V detection identifies system voltage—not whether the battery is AGM, flooded lead-acid or lithium.
Can Sapphire Energy program the controller for me?
Yes. Contact us before ordering with your battery make and model, system voltage, manufacturer-recommended charging settings and any other configuration requests. A battery datasheet is helpful when available.
We will confirm whether your requested configuration is viable and provide a quote for the programming service. Please arrange the service with us before your order ships.
Can I adjust settings using a computer or Android phone?
Yes. Connect a Victron VE.Direct to USB interface and use the free VictronConnect app on a supported Windows or macOS computer, or a compatible Android device with USB OTG support. Choose the USB-A or USB-C interface to suit your device.
You can select a battery preset, adjust supported charging and load-output settings, view operating information and update firmware. The interface does not need to remain connected after configuration. iPhone and iPad do not support this wired connection.
Can it charge LiFePO₄ batteries?
Yes, with suitable charging settings and a compatible battery system. Configure the controller according to the battery manufacturer’s requirements, including charging voltages and temperature-compensation settings. Do not assume the factory profile is correct for your lithium battery.
The battery must also have appropriate BMS protection, including protection against charging below its permitted temperature.
What can I connect to the load terminals?
The load output can supply suitable DC loads up to its 15A continuous rating, with automatic low-voltage disconnection. BatteryLife can help manage discharge when solar production is insufficient.
Do not connect an inverter or another high-inrush load directly to these terminals. Such equipment should normally connect to the battery through appropriately sized wiring and protection.
Can I connect it to a Victron GX monitoring device?
Yes. A standard VE.Direct cable connects the controller to an available VE.Direct port on a compatible GX device. This cable is different from the VE.Direct to USB interface used for computer configuration.
Can Sapphire Energy special-order Victron products that are not listed?
Yes. Contact us with the Victron product name or part number you need. We can confirm suitability, availability and special-order options.
