Victron Lynx Power In M10 1000A

The Victron Lynx Power In M10 provides a clean, professional connection point for batteries, inverter/chargers, solar controllers and other high-current DC equipment. Positive and negative tinned-copper busbars, four connection pairs and a protective enclosure help keep demanding 12V, 24V and 48V systems organized and serviceable.

Use it as the battery-entry point in a modular Victron Lynx system, to combine multiple battery strings, or as a standalone 1000A positive and negative busbar assembly.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Four positive and four negative connections for batteries, chargers, loads and high-current DC equipment.
  • 1000A continuous busbar capacity for substantial RV, marine and off-grid power systems.
  • Easily Expanded - Link them end-to-end to easily expand to 8, 12, or more positions.
  • Excellent for parallel battery banks with clean, equal-length battery cable connections.
  • Positive and negative distribution together keeps wiring organized, enclosed and serviceable.
  • Modular M10 side connections integrate directly with compatible Victron Lynx components.
Power In or Lynx Distributor?

The Lynx Power In provides four unfused connection pairs and is commonly used to bring batteries into a Lynx system. The Lynx Distributor adds four individually fused MEGA connections for inverter/chargers, solar controllers and other DC equipment.

Add Integrated MEGA Fuse Protection

The Lynx Power In’s moulded internal housing includes mounting positions for an additional set of M8 hardware. By installing suitable M8 bolts, washers and nuts, up to four MEGA fuses can be fitted directly inside the enclosure.

This creates individually fused positive connections similar to the Lynx Distributor while retaining the Power In’s simpler, fully passive design. The conversion does not add the Distributor’s fuse-status LEDs or remote fuse monitoring.

Professional High-Current Connections

The Lynx Power In combines a tinned-copper positive busbar, matching negative busbar and ground connection inside a compact ABS enclosure. Four positive and four negative cable connections provide a dependable central connection point for batteries and other high-current DC equipment.

The internal busbar assembly is rated for up to 1000A continuous. Individual cables, terminals, switches, fuses and connected equipment must still be selected for the current carried by each circuit.

External Fusing Is Required

The Lynx Power In does not contain fuse holders or internal circuit protection. Batteries, loads and charging equipment connected to it must be protected with appropriately sized external fuses based on the cable, system voltage and connected equipment.

Ideal for Parallel Battery Banks

The four matching positive and negative connections make the Lynx Power In a convenient way to combine multiple compatible batteries or battery strings into one high-current DC bus.

For balanced current sharing, batteries connected in parallel should use cables of the same type, gauge and length. Each battery or battery string should also have appropriately sized positive-side fuse protection installed close to the battery.

One Clean Connection Point

Instead of stacking several large cable lugs on one battery terminal, the Lynx Power In provides dedicated positive and negative connection points inside a protective enclosure. This creates a cleaner installation and makes individual battery connections easier to inspect and service.

Modular Victron Lynx Integration

The Lynx Power In can connect directly to compatible M10 Lynx modules on either side, creating a continuous positive and negative busbar assembly.

A typical system may use a Lynx Power In for battery connections, a Lynx Shunt VE.Can or Lynx Smart BMS for battery monitoring and management, and a Lynx Distributor for individually fused equipment circuits.

When a Lynx Shunt or Lynx Smart BMS is installed, battery connections are normally placed on the left side of the shunt or BMS, with DC loads and charging equipment on the right side.

M10 Module Connections — M8 Cable Connections

M10 refers to the side busbar connections used to join compatible Lynx modules together. The four positive and four negative equipment cable connections inside the Power In remain M8.

Match Your Lynx Connection Size

M10 Lynx modules cannot be connected directly to M8 Lynx modules. Choose compatible M10 versions when building an interconnected Lynx assembly.

Standalone or Expandable

The Lynx Power In does not require a Cerbo GX, battery monitor, Lynx Smart BMS or another Lynx module to operate. It can be used by itself as an enclosed positive and negative busbar assembly.

Additional Power In or Distributor modules can be added when more connection points are required. If equipment is connected directly to the exposed side busbar connections at the beginning or end of an assembly, appropriate cable protection and terminal insulation must be included in the system design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Lynx Power In used for?

The Lynx Power In provides four positive and four negative connections on a common 1000A busbar assembly. It is commonly used to connect multiple batteries or battery strings to a Victron Lynx distribution system.

It can also connect loads and charging equipment when each circuit has suitable external protection.

What is the difference between the Lynx Power In and Lynx Distributor?

The Lynx Power In provides four unfused positive and negative connection pairs. It is particularly useful for connecting batteries or equipment that already has suitable external fuse protection.

The Lynx Distributor provides four positions for MEGA fuses, matching negative connections and fuse-status indication. It is usually the better choice for distributing power to multiple inverter/chargers, solar controllers and other DC loads.

Does the Lynx Power In include fuses?

No. The Lynx Power In does not contain fuse holders or internal circuit protection.

Every connected battery, load or charger must have appropriately sized external fuse protection based on the connected equipment, cable ampacity, system voltage and available battery fault current.

Can I use it to connect batteries in parallel?

Yes. The four matching positive and negative connections make the Lynx Power In well suited to combining compatible batteries or battery strings in parallel.

For balanced current sharing, use the same cable type, gauge and length for each battery connection. Each battery or battery string should also have appropriately sized positive-side fuse protection installed close to the battery.

How do I add more than four connections?

Additional M10 Lynx modules can be connected directly to either side of the Lynx Power In, extending the positive and negative busbars without requiring separate jumper cables between modules.

Add another Lynx Power In M10 when you need four more battery or unfused equipment connections. Add a Lynx Distributor M10 when you want four additional MEGA-fused connections for inverter/chargers, solar controllers or other DC equipment.

The complete assembly remains subject to the 1000A continuous busbar rating and the rating of the lowest-capacity module in the system. M10 and M8 Lynx modules cannot be connected directly together.

Does the M10 version require M10 cable lugs?

No. M10 refers to the side busbar connections used to join compatible Lynx modules together.

The four positive and four negative equipment cable connections inside the Lynx Power In use M8 cable lugs.

Can M10 and M8 Lynx modules be connected together?

Not directly. The side busbar connection size must match between adjacent Lynx modules. Use M10 versions throughout an interconnected M10 Lynx assembly.

Can the Lynx Power In be used by itself?

Yes. It can be used as a standalone positive and negative busbar assembly without a Lynx Shunt, Lynx Smart BMS, Cerbo GX or Lynx Distributor.

All connected circuits still require appropriate external fuse protection, and any exposed side connections must be safely insulated.

Can I add MEGA fuses to the Lynx Power In?

Yes. Although the Lynx Power In is supplied as an unfused busbar, its internal plastic housing includes moulded mounting positions that can accept an additional set of M8 hardware.

With suitable M8 bolts, washers, spring washers and nuts installed, MEGA fuses can be mounted between the positive busbar and each cable connection. This provides up to four individually fused circuits in a layout similar to the Lynx Distributor.

This is a custom hardware configuration and does not add fuse-status LEDs or electronic monitoring. The added hardware must be installed securely, and each fuse must have the correct current and DC voltage rating for its cable and connected equipment.

Does it connect to a Cerbo GX or VictronConnect?

No. The Lynx Power In is a passive busbar assembly and does not contain Bluetooth, VE.Can or other monitoring electronics.

Battery monitoring can be added with a compatible Lynx Shunt VE.Can, Lynx Smart BMS or another suitably selected battery monitor.

Can I connect equipment to the side busbar connections?

The side connections are primarily intended to join compatible Lynx modules. Victron permits batteries, loads or chargers to be connected there when the Power In is used by itself or is positioned at the beginning or end of an assembly.

Any direct connection must include appropriate fuse protection, cable sizing, hardware and insulation for the installation.

Can I use it in a boat or outdoors?

It is suitable for marine, RV and mobile DC installations when mounted in a dry, protected location. The IP22 enclosure is not waterproof, so it must be protected from rain, direct spray, condensation and standing water.
