18" SAE Power Cable 10AWG

A compact, heavy-duty SAE power cable built for quick, reliable connections in RV, trailer, and portable solar setups. This 18" lead uses 10AWG fine-strand copper in a bonded red/black twin conductor for clean installs and low voltage drop.

Available as a standard SAE pigtail, or with generic MC4-style solar connectors installed so it can be used directly as an SAE to MC4 solar adapter with no crimping, wiring, or extra connectors required.

Includes a tethered dust/moisture cap to protect the SAE connector when not in use, along with a polarity-reversing / gender changer adapter for compatibility with a wider range of SAE-wired devices.

Why You’ll Love This

  • Heavy-duty 10AWG fine-strand copper for low voltage drop
  • 18" length — perfect for tight, clean connections
  • Bonded red/black twin conductor for easy routing and polarity identification
  • Available with MC4-style solar connectors pre-installed
  • SAE connector with tethered dust/moisture cap
  • Includes polarity-reversing / gender changer adapter
SAE polarity is not standardized

This cable is wired with male pin = red positive (+) and female socket = black negative (–). Because SAE polarity varies between manufacturers, always verify polarity before connecting.

The included adapter allows you to reverse polarity when needed for compatibility with different SAE setups.

Want plug-and-play solar panel compatibility?

Choose the MC4-installed variant if you want this cable ready to connect directly to standard MC4-style solar panel leads. This is ideal for RV solar ports, trailer SAE ports, portable panels, and solar charge controller adapter setups.

No crimping tool, loose connectors, or customer assembly required.

Need MC4 connectors or tools?

If you choose the standard SAE pigtail version, you can still build your own custom solar adapter using MC4 connectors and a proper MC4 crimping tool.

Frequently Asked

Will this work with my RV or trailer SAE solar port?
Yes, in many cases it will. SAE connectors are commonly used on RV and trailer solar ports. Because polarity is not standardized, always verify polarity before connecting.

Also be aware that while many RVs include a SAE bullet style connector port, you need to check if it goes to the batteries, or a solar controller, before connecting solar panels directly.   An easy way to check is with a multi-meter and probe the contacts at the RV - if there is 12V, it connects directly to the 12V system, and not a solar controller.
Can I use this with MC4 solar panels?
Yes. Choose the MC4-installed variant if you want a ready-to-use SAE to MC4 solar adapter. This version comes with generic MC4-style solar connectors already installed, so no crimping or assembly is required.
Are the MC4 ends genuine Stäubli MC4 connectors?
No. The installed solar connector option uses generic MC4-style connectors. They are suitable for many common solar adapter applications, but they are not genuine Stäubli connectors.
If you'd prefer Staubli Authentic connectors, please contact us and we can make one for you.
Why is an adapter included?
SAE polarity varies between manufacturers. The included adapter allows you to quickly reverse polarity for compatibility with different devices and solar setups without rewiring.
Do I still need to check polarity?
Yes. Always confirm polarity before connecting to a solar panel, charge controller, battery, or RV solar port. SAE wiring is not standardized, and the included polarity adapter is provided to help match different setups.
Is this cable suitable for repeated connection and removal?

Yes. This cable is well suited for portable solar, trailer ports, and other 12V applications where frequent connection and removal is expected.

To maximize lifespan, keep the included dust/moisture cap in place when not in use to help prevent corrosion and debris buildup. Before each use, a quick visual inspection of the connector is recommended.

Like any exposed connector, wear can occur over time. If the connection begins to feel loose or shows signs of corrosion, replacing the pigtail is a simple and cost-effective way to maintain a reliable connection.

Can I use this to get 12V Power from my RV?

Likely Yes!

Many RV's have the SAE bullet connector port included, and it's often wired direct to the 12V battery system. Check with a multimeter for 12V and then you can power up your devices easily.

Be sure to always confirm fuse sizes and do not exceed any wiring or port limitations
