A Simple, Complete Rail Attachment
The Kinetic Solar 3-Inch L-Bracket Kit (KLB3-M) provides the connection between a compatible roof mount and Kinetic Solar racking rail. Its slotted aluminum bracket allows the rail position and height to be adjusted during installation.
The kit includes the Kinetic nut and stainless-steel hardware required to attach the L-bracket to a compatible Kinetic rail, keeping the necessary rail-side components together in one convenient package.
Pair the KLB3-M with a compatible roof mount to complete the rail attachment. Choose the Kinetic K-Flash for a traditionally flashed mounting system or the compact Roof Tech RT-MINI II with integrated butyl sealing.
Why You'll Love It
- Connects Kinetic Solar rails to compatible roof mounts
- Three-inch bracket height
- Slotted design provides installation adjustment
- Includes the Kinetic nut and rail-attachment hardware
- Compatible with the commonly used Kinetic Rapid 1 rail
- Lightweight, corrosion-resistant aluminum construction
- Stainless-steel attachment hardware
- Mill finish matches Kinetic mill-finish racking
- Made in Canada
The KLB3-M includes the Kinetic nut, stainless-steel bolt, washer and lock washer required to attach the bracket to a compatible Kinetic rail. There is no need to purchase the rail-attachment hardware separately.
Connects the Rail to the Roof Mount
The vertical side of the L-bracket attaches to the solar rail using the included Kinetic nut and stainless-steel hardware. The lower mounting slot connects the bracket to the selected roof attachment.
This allows the same Kinetic rail system to be paired with different roof-mounting solutions, including flashed shingle mounts, steel-roof mounts, hanger bolts and other compatible attachment hardware.
The KLB3-M is the L-bracket and rail-attachment hardware only. It does not include a flashing, roof foot, lag bolt, hanger bolt or other roof attachment. Select the mounting method appropriate for the roofing material and structure.
What's Included

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an L-bracket used for?
An L-bracket connects the solar racking rail to the selected roof mount. The vertical side attaches to the rail, while the lower slot attaches to a flashing base, roof foot, hanger bolt or another compatible mounting component.
What hardware is included?
The kit includes one three-inch aluminum L-bracket, one Kinetic rail nut, a stainless-steel bolt, a flat washer and a lock washer.
Does it include the roof-mounting hardware?
No. The flashing, roof foot, lag bolt, hanger bolt or other structural roof attachment must be selected separately for the roofing material and building structure.
Can it be fastened directly to the roof?
The bracket is normally connected to a properly selected roof mount rather than fastened directly to the roofing material. The roof attachment must provide the required structural connection and weather protection for the installation.
Which Kinetic rails will it fit?
The KLB3-M is commonly used with Kinetic Rapid 1 rail and is designed to interface with compatible Kinetic Solar rails using the included Kinetic nut and hardware.
Can it be used with another manufacturer's racking?
The bracket may be mechanically compatible with some other manufacturers' rails or mounting products, but slot dimensions, hardware engagement and structural requirements must be verified before installation. The included Kinetic nut is designed specifically for compatible Kinetic rails.
Why is the bracket slotted?
The slots provide adjustment when positioning and levelling the rail. This helps accommodate small variations between roof attachment points while allowing the rail to be aligned correctly.
How many brackets will I need?
The required quantity and spacing depend on the rail span, array dimensions, roof structure, attachment method, and local wind and snow loads. Follow the engineered racking layout for the installation.
Does the bracket provide electrical bonding?
The L-bracket is a structural attachment and should not be assumed to complete the array's electrical bonding path. Use the specified Kinetic bonding hardware and grounding lug required by the complete racking design.
Tell us what type of roof you have and how many solar panels you are installing. We can help identify the appropriate mounting components and estimate the quantities required for your racking layout.
