Solar Panel Mounting Clamps for Unistrut (Mid & End Clamps)

Build a strong, economical solar mounting system using readily available Unistrut / strut channel. These solar panel clamps are extruded from 6005-T5 structural aluminum and paired with 304 stainless steel hardware for excellent corrosion resistance and long service life.

Designed around common 30mm aluminum-framed solar panels, these clamps are an excellent choice for off-grid cabins, RVs, boats, equipment trailers, workshops, sheds, agricultural buildings, and other DIY solar projects.

Designed for DIY Solar

Complete Mounting Assembly Included

Unlike many systems that require separate spring nuts, each clamp includes the captive mounting nut, stainless steel Allen-head bolt, and lock washer needed for installation. The integrated plastic positioning clip securely holds the mounting assembly in place while you position your panel.

Why You'll Love It

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to purchase spring nuts separately?

No. Each clamp includes its own captive mounting nut, stainless steel Allen-head bolt, and lock washer. Everything required for the clamp assembly is included.

What does the plastic positioning clip do?

The plastic positioning clip holds the complete mounting assembly exactly where you place it inside the strut channel, making installation much easier.

Once tightened, the plastic sits clear of the clamping and bonding surfaces, allowing direct metal-to-metal contact between the clamp and rail.

What size solar panels are these designed for?

Both clamp styles are designed around common 30mm aluminum-framed solar panels.

The Mid Clamp also accommodates panel frames up to 35mm thick, making it compatible with many commercial solar modules while still being ideal for standard 30mm frames.

How much spacing do the mid clamps provide?

The Mid Clamp creates approximately 20mm spacing between adjacent solar panels.

Why do the clamps have raised ribs?

The raised ribs help increase bite strength to resist panel movement from vibration, wind, and thermal cycling.

They also promote reliable metal-to-metal electrical bonding between the aluminum panel frame and the mounting hardware by concentrating clamping force at multiple contact points.

How many clamps do I need?

A typical row of solar panels requires:

Panels in Row End Clamps Mid Clamps
2 4 2
3 4 4
4 4 6
5 4 8
10 4 18

This guide assumes a standard two-rail mounting system. If your installation uses three rails per row of panels, increase the number of Mid and End Clamps by approximately 50%.

Can these be used on residential rooftop installations?

These clamps are intended for DIY and off-grid solar projects using standard Unistrut / strut channel.

For residential rooftop installations that require engineered or code-compliant racking, we recommend using a certified solar mounting system designed specifically for that application.
