32A Solar PV Disconnect & 10 AWG Cable Bundle

Your solar cables and disconnect, together in one convenient bundle. Pair our 32A 2-pole DC solar breaker kit with your choice of 10 AWG PV cable set and pre-installed generic MC4-style or authentic Stäubli MC4 connectors.

Pre-fitted solar connectors, with flexible disconnect placement. The cables arrive with your selected connectors installed, but are supplied separately from the breaker enclosure. This lets you route the free cable ends through glands and raceways, then wire the disconnect where it best suits your installation.

A practical choice for RVs, campervans, cabins, and off-grid solar builds, this bundle gives you the cable run and an accessible ON/OFF isolation point between your solar array and charge controller. Choose the cable length and connector option that suit your setup.

Why You’ll Love It

  • One Convenient Bundle — get your PV disconnect and solar cable set together.
  • Pre-Installed Solar Connectors — your selected connectors are already fitted, with no connector crimping needed.
  • Flexible Installation — route the free cable ends through glands and raceways before connecting the disconnect.
  • Easier Solar Servicing — isolate your controller’s PV input without removing wires from its terminals.
  • Outdoor-Ready PV Cable — 10 AWG tinned-copper conductors with UV-resistant XLPE insulation.
  • Your Choice of Configuration — select your cable length and generic MC4-style or authentic Stäubli MC4 connectors.

A Cleaner Way to Connect Your Solar

Plan your cable route, choose an accessible location for the disconnect, and secure the cables along the run. With the cables supplied separately from the enclosure, you can feed their free ends through cable-entry glands and raceways before making the breaker connections.

For example, in a campervan you could mount the disconnect near your charge controller, giving you a convenient way to switch off its solar input for troubleshooting or maintenance. In a cabin, it provides an accessible isolation point where the PV wiring enters your equipment area.

Choose Your Connectors

Both connector options arrive installed on the cables. Choose generic MC4-style connectors for connections using the matching generic manufacturer and type, or authentic Stäubli MC4 connectors for approved mating connections within the Stäubli connector family.

Match the connector manufacturer and approved mating type. Similar-looking solar connectors are not automatically interchangeable. Check the connectors on your panels or existing cables before selecting your bundle.

What’s Included

  • 32A 2-pole DC miniature circuit breaker
  • IP65 UV-resistant enclosure with breaker pre-installed
  • 2 cable sealing glands
  • 2 silicone mounting-hole plugs
  • 4 mounting screws with drywall anchors
  • 10 AWG solar PV cable set in your selected length
  • Pre-installed generic MC4-style or authentic Stäubli MC4 connectors, according to your selected option

Installation required: The breaker is pre-installed in its enclosure, and the solar connectors are fitted to the cables. The cables are not connected to the breaker. Product photos show the assembled configuration.

Installation Overview

With the PV source safely isolated and absence of voltage verified, route and secure your cables. Feed the free ends through your glands and raceways, leaving enough length for neat, strain-free connections at the disconnect.

Mount the enclosure and connect the array and controller sides according to the breaker’s polarity and terminal markings. If you’re placing the disconnect partway along the cable run, cut the conductors at your chosen location to create the connections on either side.

Tighten terminals to the manufacturer’s specified torque and secure the cable glands around the cable jackets. The solar connectors are already installed, so no MC4 connector crimping is required.

Choose the Right Fit for Your System

The breaker is rated 32A, up to 500V DC. Confirm that your array’s cold-weather open-circuit voltage, circuit current, cable sizing, and charge-controller limits suit the installation. A cable’s higher voltage rating does not increase the breaker’s rating.

Solar Wiring Safety

Solar panels produce voltage whenever exposed to light. Switching off the breaker does not de-energize the wiring between the panels and breaker. Safely isolate the source and verify absence of voltage before cutting or terminating wires. Do not unplug PV connectors under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why buy the bundle instead of just the disconnect?

Building a new solar setup or replacing your cable run? This bundle brings your PV cable set and disconnect together, with the solar connectors already fitted. Choose your cable length and connector option, then position the disconnect where it’s easiest to reach.

Already have suitable cables? The standalone disconnect kit is a great choice.

Does the bundle arrive assembled?

Your solar connectors are already fitted to the cables, and the breaker comes installed in its enclosure. The cables are supplied separately from the disconnect so you can route the free ends through glands and raceways before connecting them to the breaker.

No solar connector crimping is needed—just position the disconnect and terminate the cables to suit your installation. Product photos show the assembled configuration.

Where does the disconnect go?

Typically between your solar array and charge controller. Mounting it near the controller in your RV or cabin makes it easy to isolate the controller’s solar input when servicing or troubleshooting your system.

Which cable length should I choose?

Measure the route your cables will actually follow, including bends, roof entries, and the path to your charge controller. Leave a little extra for tidy connections and servicing rather than pulling the cables tight.

For longer runs, check voltage drop as well as current capacity. The right cable size depends on your array voltage, current, and total circuit length.

Should I choose generic or authentic Stäubli connectors?

Choose the option that matches the connectors you’ll be plugging into. If your panels use authentic Stäubli MC4 connectors, select the corresponding Stäubli option. For generic connectors, verify the manufacturer and mating type before ordering.

Both options come pre-installed on the cables. Matching the approved connector pair helps you build a dependable connection.

Can I install the disconnect partway along the cable?

Yes. That’s a convenient way to put the switch exactly where you want it. With the source safely isolated, cut the cable at your chosen location and terminate the array and controller sides inside the enclosure according to the breaker markings.

Plan the location before cutting so you have enough cable for mounting and neat connections.

Is this suitable for outdoor use?

The cable has UV-resistant insulation for outdoor solar use, and the disconnect enclosure is IP65-rated when properly installed and sealed. A sheltered mounting location helps protect the enclosure over time. It is not intended for immersion.

Will this work with my solar array?

It can suit many RV, cabin, and off-grid PV installations, provided the circuit is appropriate for a 32A, 500V DC breaker. Check array current, cold-weather open-circuit voltage, cable requirements, and your controller’s input limits.

The 32A rating describes breaker current; it does not mean the kit is limited to a 32A charge controller. PV input current and controller battery-output current are different.
