SB50 Contacts (Pins)
High-quality SB50 contacts (pins) for compatible SB50 connector housings. These contacts are manufactured from heavy-wall copper and finished with a silver plating for excellent conductivity, improved arc resistance, cooler operation, and reliable long-term performance in demanding DC power applications.
Available for 10 AWG, 8 AWG, and 6 AWG cable sizes. Simply select the contact size that matches your cable.
Contacts (Pins) Only
This listing includes one (1) SB50 contact (pin). Compatible housings and complete connector kits are sold separately.
Why You'll Love It
- Heavy-wall copper construction
- Silver-plated contact surfaces
- Improved arc resistance during connection and disconnection
- Lower resistance for cooler operation under load
- Premium construction for demanding high-current applications
- Available for 10 AWG, 8 AWG, and 6 AWG cable sizes
- Compatible with SB50 connector housings
The Contact Matters
While many connector systems use similar housings, the quality of the contact has a major impact on performance. These contacts use a heavy-wall copper design with silver plating to reduce resistance, run cooler under load, and provide excellent durability in high-current applications.
Proper crimping, matching contacts, and periodic inspection are essential for safe operation in high-current DC systems.
Suggested Uses
- Battery quick-disconnect connections
- Portable lithium power stations and battery boxes
- Solar and off-grid power systems
- DC-DC charger installations
- HAM radio power distribution
- Marine and RV electrical systems
- Service vehicle and utility equipment wiring

Need a Complete Connector?
These contacts require a compatible SB50 housing. Complete connector kits are also available if you need both the housing and contacts together.
Frequently Asked
Are these contacts, pins, or terminals?
All three terms are commonly used. These parts are often referred to as contacts, pins, terminals, or crimp contacts. They are the metal conductors that install into an SB50 housing.
Is a housing included?
No. This listing includes one contact only. Compatible SB50 housings are sold separately.
How many contacts do I need?
This listing is sold per contact.
A single SB50 connector housing requires two contacts (one positive and one negative conductor).
To create a complete mated connection between two cables, most installations require:
- 2 × SB50 housings
- 4 × SB50 contacts
Be sure to order enough contacts for your application.
What wire sizes are available?
SB50 contacts are available for:
- 10 AWG cable
- 8 AWG cable
- 6 AWG cable
Select the contact size that matches your cable for proper crimping and maximum performance.
Why are these silver plated?
Silver plating helps improve conductivity, resist corrosion, and withstand the arcing that can occur when connecting or disconnecting DC power systems under load.
Combined with the heavy-wall copper construction, this helps provide lower resistance and cooler operation compared to many economy-grade contacts.
Should I use matching contacts on both sides?
Yes. For the best electrical performance and contact engagement, we recommend using matching SB50 contacts on both sides of the connection whenever possible.
Mixing contact designs, materials, or manufacturers may reduce the effective contact area and can increase resistance, heat generation, and wear over time.
Using matching housings and matching contacts helps ensure the best fit, lowest resistance, and longest service life.
Should I inspect the connection after installation?
Absolutely. After installation, perform a pull-test on the crimped conductor and verify that the contact is fully seated and locked into the housing.
During the first few high-current operating cycles, we recommend checking connector temperature to verify proper crimping and contact engagement.
Periodically inspect the connection for excessive heat, discoloration, looseness, or signs of arcing and damage.
Do I need a special crimp tool?
A quality crimp tool sized for the contact being used is strongly recommended. After crimping, always perform a pull test and inspect that the contact is fully seated in the housing.
Can I mix different contact sizes or wire gauges?
Yes. You can use different compatible SB50 contact sizes on either side of the connection. The mating surface of the contact is the same, while the crimp barrel is sized for the cable being used.
This can be useful when transitioning between different wire sizes, such as a larger cable on a long run and a smaller cable near the device.
Important: Always fuse the circuit for the lowest-rated conductor or component in the system.
