Suntree 1-Pole DC Miniature Circuit Breaker – 10A to 63A (250V DC)

The Suntree 1-Pole DC Miniature Circuit Breaker is a compact, DIN-rail mounted breaker designed for solar PV string protection and DC branch circuit applications. Rated for 250V DC with a 6kA interrupt capacity, it provides reliable fault protection in off-grid, RV, cabin, and mobile power systems.

Available in 10A, 16A, 32A, 50A, and 63A, this breaker is ideal for protecting solar inputs before your MPPT charge controller, building a compact disconnect assembly, or protecting DC accessory circuits. Also sold through Renogy as a 1P DC PV breaker.

Why You’ll Love It

Safety & Maintenance

It's important to periodically inspect breaker terminals for tightness, discoloration, or signs of overheating. Loose connections can cause arcing and heat buildup leading to failures.

Frequently Asked

Can this breaker protect non-solar DC circuits?

Yes. This breaker can also be used to protect DC loads such as diesel heaters, 12V/24V fridges, lighting circuits, small fuse panels, and accessory sub-panels — as long as the amperage rating matches the circuit requirements.

Can this be used as a disconnect switch?

Yes. In many installations this breaker is used as an inline DC isolation point, allowing you to safely disconnect power for maintenance or troubleshooting.

For a clean, weather-resistant installation, we recommend pairing it with our IP65 Breaker Enclosure.

How do I choose the correct amperage?

The breaker rating should be selected based on the circuit’s maximum current and wiring size. For solar applications, this typically means sizing the breaker according to the panel’s short-circuit current (Isc) and applicable code requirements.

For DC loads (heaters, fridges, panels), choose a breaker that protects the wire first, then confirm it supports the expected load current.

Can I install two breakers in one enclosure?

Yes. Two single-pole breakers can be installed inside one enclosure to create a compact dual-string solar disconnect or to separate two independent DC circuits.

Our IP65 Breaker Enclosure is designed specifically for this type of setup.

Is this suitable for 12V, 24V, or 48V systems?

Yes. With a 250V DC rating, this breaker is suitable for typical 12V, 24V, and 48V battery systems and low-voltage solar arrays.

Does this breaker protect both positive and negative?

This is a single-pole (1P) breaker, meaning it protects one conductor. In most DC solar and mobile applications, the breaker is installed on the positive conductor.

What cables should I use with this breaker?

For solar installations, 10 AWG PV wire with MC4 connectors is commonly used. You can pair this breaker with our 10 AWG MC4 Solar Extension Cables for clean array-to-breaker wiring.

Always ensure the wire size matches the breaker rating and circuit requirements.

Does this replace a fuse?

In many DC branch circuit applications, yes — a breaker provides resettable protection and can double as a disconnect.

However, for main battery protection (such as between a battery bank and inverter), high-interrupt DC fuses are typically required. In those cases, consider using ANL fuses or Class T fuses, depending on system size and fault current requirements.

Breakers like this are best suited for PV inputs and branch circuits — not primary battery overcurrent protection.

Is the enclosure included?

No. This listing is for the breaker only. Enclosures are sold separately.
