HTRC P20 Battery Charger
Compact, capable, and travel-friendly — the HTRC P20 keeps your Sapphire Energy batteries ready to go. It supports both 12V and 24V systems across lithium (LiFePO4) and lead-acid chemistries with safe, microprocessor-controlled multi-stage charging.
Delivering up to 20A at 12V (10A @ 24V), it can recharge a 200Ah LiFePO4 battery in about 10 hours from empty (ideal conditions). Clip on the included alligator clamps, select the mode, and let the charger do the rest.
Why You’ll Love It
- Automatic voltage detection — seamlessly works with 12V or 24V batteries
- Safe & smart — microprocessor control, reverse polarity protection, and seasonal compensation
- Right-sized power — 20A output for steady charging; use current limits for smaller batteries
- Portable & cool — lightweight design with a temperature-controlled cooling fan
- Versatile modes — includes a forced charge function to re-activate deeply discharged lead-acid and wake undercharged lithium packs
- Long power cord — includes a full 10 ft (3 m) cord so you can often skip the extension cord
We use the P20 ourselves — it’s dependable, compact, and easy to throw in a service kit. The forced charge mode is especially handy for reviving lead-acid batteries and “waking” lithium packs that have fallen below BMS cut-off before switching back to normal LiFePO4 mode.
Perfect For
- RV & vanlife — top up house batteries on shore power or a generator
- Off-grid cabins — maintain backup batteries during low-solar stretches
- Marine / boats — reliable charging for onboard lithium or lead-acid banks
- Workshop & garage — everyday maintenance for cars, ATVs, motorcycles, and tractors
- Emergency backup — revive dead lead-acid or wake undercharged lithium when it matters
- Travel & service kits — lightweight, compact, and easy to carry

Frequently Asked
Can the P20 wake up a lithium battery that’s below cut-off?
Yes. Use the built-in forced charge function to safely wake undercharged LiFePO4 batteries that have tripped their BMS cut-off. Monitor closely and switch to the normal LiFePO4 mode once the pack reaches a healthy voltage.
Can I hardwire to my batteries?
Yes, using the included XT60 output port you can use custom accessories to hard wire to your battery.
Be sure to fuse appropriately, and be aware the charger will not re-start charging automatically once the charge cycle is completed. You must re-connect, or power cycle, to restart charging.
What size batteries can it charge?
It’s suitable up to ~300Ah at 12V (~150Ah at 24V). Larger banks are supported; charging times will extend accordingly.
Does it have a dedicated LiFePO4 mode?
Yes. Select the LiFePO4 mode for correct charge voltages and multi-stage control tailored to lithium iron phosphate chemistry. Press the MODE button until the corresponding indicator is selected.
Will it remember my last mode?
Yes. Mode memory recalls your last used charging mode for quick setup next time.
Can I limit current for smaller batteries?
Yes. Use the adjustable current limit to match smaller batteries or sensitive applications.
Is the fan loud?
The fan is temperature-controlled and ramps as needed. It’s quiet at light loads and increases to manage heat during higher output.
Does it have repair/desulfation for lead-acid?
Yes. An advanced repair mode helps address sulfation and restore performance on lead-acid batteries.
Can I charge with loads connected?
Generally yes for moderate loads, but charging will be slower. For fastest, most consistent charging, minimize heavy loads during the charge cycle.
Can I use it with a generator?
Yes — as long as the generator provides stable AC within 100–240V, 50/60Hz. For best results, use an inverter generator, let it warm up and stabilize before connecting, and keep extension cord runs short with proper gauge wire.
What protections are included?
Reverse polarity, over-temperature, seasonal (summer/winter) compensation, and microprocessor-controlled multi-stage charging.
Will it work on 120V and 240V AC?
Yes. Wide-range input: 100–240V AC, 50/60Hz.

Works as it should
Has great clamps that are easy to connect to my car battery. Charged up really fast and I like that it also works for my lithium battery I use with my radio gear.
Russ was very helpful in finding the correct charger for the lithium. Phosphate batteries. Also the batteries safety , the amount of energy required to charge without damaging the battery and it's life.
